Who doesn’t like spring break? Who doesn’t dream about having the best spring break party? Who doesn’t want their spring break party turn into a nightmare? Not me! This horror story will definitely chill your blood and maybe change your mind on having that awesome spring break party you have in mind! Let me know what you think happened in this scary story and whether that guy was a psycho or a criminal… I really don’t know what to think!

Hey, guys! My name is Lizzy and I’m seventeen. This year my group of friends wanted to do something special for spring break. It’s our senior year, so we wanted to celebrate and to create some good memories for years to come. Well, I know I’m gonna remember this spring break forever. Unfortunately, it’s gonna be for all the wrong reasons.

Initially, we wanted to go together somewhere, like a camping trip or something, but our parents weren’t on board with this idea: it was still pretty chilly in Oregon where we live, so they were worried that we would catch a cold. To prevent us from going, my parents offered us an alternative: to throw a big spring break party with a sleepover at our house. We live in a big house with an indoor swimming pool and plenty of room for everyone to hang out, dance, and rest, so after discussing it with my friends, we agreed to this plan.

Finally, our long-awaited spring break started! My parents decided to give me and my friends some space by staying at my grandma’s for the weekend, so we had the house to ourselves. Weputsome inflatable flamingos and unicorns in the pool, set up a snack table and some lounge chairs, and even created an improvised dance floor by setting up some disco lights and speakers. I was over the moon! It looked like the real spring break party that I had always wanted!

My friends started arriving around 8 p.m. and people kept coming and coming – all the cool crowd, obvi! We were dancing, swimming and playing in the pool, eating delicious food, and drinking soda. It was magical!

Around 2 a.m. the party broke up – most people got picked up by their parents, some others fell asleep all around the house, and the rest of us decided to stay up until dawn. We stayed in the living room downstairs and played party games.

At some point I heard a noise upstairs, as if something dropped on the floor in one of the bedrooms. Worried that someone might have broken something, I left my friends and went upstairs to check.

As I got upstairs, I noticed that the door to my parents’ room was wide open. I shuddered. My parents had strictly forbidden anyone from going in there, so I made all the necessary precautions – I clearly remembered locking the door and putting the key inside my jewelry box. So how could it be open? Did my parents come home early? Or…

I got closer. I could hear noises coming from inside – some sort of annoying, but quiet squeaking. I made another step forward and peeped into the room. I immediately noticed a male figure standing up against the window. He was just standing there, not moving, facing the window. That was creepy. I couldn’t see much more, because the lights were off and it was really dark. The squeaking continued. Thinking that it might be one of my guests I called out:

“Hey, what are you doing over there?”
The stranger turned around. I saw the blade of my dad’s collectors’ machete glimmering in his hand. The blood in my veins turned cold. I couldn’t see his face, because he was standing against the lights that were coming from the streets. The stranger took a step toward me.

I screamed as loud as I could, slammed the door to my parents’ room and ran back downstairs. Everyone, alarmed by my loud screaming, surrounded me, asking what happened. I told them everything that I saw. One of the girls immediately called the police. After a moment of confusion one of the guys ....
